Beverley Hoyt Bio

Beverley Hoyt – Director of Children's Christian Formation

 

Beverley is a native of Birmingham, AL.  She was baptized, confirmed and married at St. Mary’s on the Highlands in Birmingham, AL.  Beverley received a bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Rollins College and a Master’s in Elementary Education from UAB.  In 1997, Beverley and her husband Chris moved from Birmingham to Jackson, MS.  During her time there, Beverley discovered Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.  When Beverley and Chris moved back to Birmingham in 2004, she completed her Level I Catechesis training and brought the program to St. Mary’s in 2006.  Beverley has since completed her Level II and Level III training and is in the process of becoming a Formation Leader for adult courses.  As the Director of Children’s Christian Formation, Beverley organizes and teaches Catechesis of the Good Shepherd classes on Sunday mornings, plans Wednesday night programming, coordinates adult formation courses as well as planning other special events for families and children of St. Mary’s. Beverley and Chris have 4 children ages 15, 14, 11 and 7.
