Serve

Outreach
At St. Mary's, you will find a warm, embracing community of Christians. With this in mind, one of the best ways to join our active parish is through service.  Using the links on the left, please find a variety of ways you can assist in our devotion to Christ.

Current Outreach Projects and Upcoming Events:

April Collection Item for Grace Church-Woodlawn:  BAGS!  Plastic grocery bags, paper grocery bags, large shopping bags with handles, etc.  These will be used distribute food to families and individuals who receive assistance from Grace’s Food Pantry.  Collection baskets are in the foyer of Drennen House. Thanks!

Opportunity to Serve Community Kitchens-Woodlawn on Friday, May 3:  St. Mary’s is hosting the Annual Woodlawn Burger Bash and Weenie Roast on Friday, May 3.  Volunteers are needed to donate food, set up, serve, and clean up.  There is a sign up board outside of Randolph Memorial Hall.  This event is always tons of fun and a great way to support the Woodlawn community.  Questions?  Contact Alice Yeates at 969-5873.

Blackbelt Appliance Ministry:  Keep those donations coming!  Bill Ringland coordinates a great ministry for the Blackbelt region of our state.  Many of our brothers and sisters in Christ live in poverty, lacking some of the most basic comforts we can take for granted:  stoves, refrigerators, washers, driers, and other kitchen appliances.  You can help our neighbors by donating your old appliances or gently used cabinetry.  Unfortunately, since this ministry operates on a strictly volunteer basis, they are only able to handle local deliveries in the Birmingham area.  Please contact Bill Ringland at 612-7738 for pick-up info and details.  Thank you for your continued support of this ministry!
